Under The Radar: Open Plan
Artist of the Week in Scotland On Sunday - printed 29 March 2020
OpenPlan are an exciting young indie/rock quartet from Caithness. They’ve supported Under the Radar favourites such as Baby Strange, Indigo Velvet, Tijuana Bibles, Miracle Glass Company and fellow northern act Wick’s Neon Waltz.
Airplay has come via BBC Introducing on BBC Radio Nan Gaidheal, and from Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio. As well as sold-out hometown shows the band have played festivals including Sounds of Summer Festival in Wick and EH6 Festival in Edinburgh.
Their debut EP Déjà Vu was released late last year and was championed by live video, blog, podcast and promotions company NetSounds as well as clocking up over 20,000 streams on Spotify.
Thanks to coronavirus all of their live shows have been postponed, but in the meantime buy some merchandise and keep an eye on their social channels.
