We recently opened applications to play Wide Days 2024, so what better time to host a Born To Be Wide evening with a talk about showcases, followed by an opportunity to socialise while guest DJs play their favourite tracks?

The panel looks at how acts are selected, what can be done to increase the likelihood of being booked and how both artists and professionals can get the most out of industry events. It will also offer insights into the best time to apply for international conventions including ESNS, Reeperbahn Festival, SXSW and The Great Escape. 

Wide Days founder, Olaf Furniss, will be joined by Mobo Agoro, (Pitch Scotland), Rosie Watson (Resonate) and musician Amelia Stokes, whose band Midnight Ambulance have played several industry showcases this year, which led to being taken on by a booking agent and sync agent.

Following the panel, guests will have the opportunity to meet the speakers and socialise, while guest DJs from Edinburgh’s music scene play a selection of their favourite tracks. 

They include Arusa Qureshi (music programmer, Summerhall) with additional DJs TBC.

Ticket proceeds from the forthcoming event will be donated to the British Association For Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) and Attitude Is Everything.
